RESEARCH · INSTITUTIONS, RELATION, AI CONDUCT, PUBLIC SYSTEMS

Research on what systems may know, infer, decide, retain, and require of persons.

The work ranges from institutional judgment and incomplete representation to human formation, person-safety assurance, administrative capacity, and public systems. The landing page emphasizes the research programs and their strongest contributions; the full public inventory remains available below.

Field map · four coequal programs

One recurring problem, examined at four scales.

02 · PersonRelation, Formation & ChangeHow persons become readable, revisable, attached, and able to continue.10 direct members
03 · MachineAI Conduct & Person-Safety AssuranceWhat intelligent systems may infer, retain, say, and require.10 direct members

Shared decision surface

What may a system know, infer, decide, retain, and require of a person when its representation is necessarily incomplete?

Text equivalent · non-sequential

Record
Representation & Institutional Judgment studies partial descriptions becoming consequential.
Person
Relation, Formation & Change studies readability, revision, attachment, and continued development.
Machine
AI Conduct & Person-Safety Assurance studies inference, memory, speech, authority, contestability, and repair.
Institution
Administrative Capacity & Public Systems studies organizational memory, governance, correction, and usable public capability.

Semantic rule: the four programs are related domains sharing a decision surface. Placement does not encode sequence, causation, dependency, or maturity.

FOUR RESEARCH PROGRAMS

The programs first. Contributions second.

The same questions recur from different directions. Membership is classification, not lineage: the catalogue keeps program scope visible without turning adjacency into causation.

01 · Record11 direct members

Representation & Institutional Judgment

Records, averages, procedures, error, uncertainty, standing, and inherited descriptions become consequential when institutions convert them into decisions about persons or futures.

02 · Person10 direct members

Relation, Formation & Change

These works examine anticipation, reception, threat propagation, relational mismatch, dependence, exit, temporal authority, future credibility, and the social conditions under which change can be recognized as real.

Cross-room membership
Contradiction as Integrity is canonically a Writing object and directly belongs to this Research program. Program membership does not transfer canonical room ownership.

03 · Machine10 direct members

AI Conduct & Person-Safety Assurance

Standards, specifications, and governance mechanisms focus on synthetic voice, reason custody, contestability, withdrawal, memory, authority, handoff, correction, and rollback.

04 · Institution5 direct members

Administrative Capacity & Public Systems

Applied work connects administrative memory, governed AI assistance, longitudinal records, public rights, and decision-making under disruption to the practical conditions under which organizations and people can act.

CURRENT RESEARCH INVENTORY

Forty-four current public works in the Research field.

Thirty-six public works have direct program membership, including one canonically owned by Writing. Eight additional current Research-jurisdiction works remain visible as satellites because their program membership is unasserted rather than inferred.

RESEARCH SATELLITES · PROGRAM MEMBERSHIP UNASSERTED

Current Research objects without an asserted program assignment.

Satellite status is not a quality judgment, orphan state, or invitation to infer membership. These objects remain current within the Research jurisdiction until an explicit program relation is established.

Retired route bridges such as Programs, Futures, and Ideas remain outside this intellectual inventory because they are route-governance objects, not Research contributions.

LINEAGE & PROVENANCE

Relationships are typed before they are drawn.

This is a restrained public lens on the adjudicated Research graph. Membership, provenance, theoretical home, related work, historical succession, and candidate relations remain different kinds of statements.

Theoretical home · companion context

Made Voices / Conduct Layer

Explicit related research · historical succession

Jurisdiction / Unfinishedness / artificial address

  • The Jurisdiction of Form and Unfinishedness explicitly name one another as Related Research.
  • Those Related Research links are editorial adjacency metadata; they do not extend either argument or make one derivative of the other.
  • When AI Becomes a Voice is explicit related research for both objects.
  • Against Total Explainability is preserved as an authoritative historical precursor superseded by Unfinishedness for the broader opacity and institutional-legibility argument.
Functional boundary · lower-level machinery

PSC / Residue Ledger / Documentary Due Process

  • PSC 1.0 may require withdrawal proof.
  • The Residue Ledger provides lower-level withdrawal machinery without being replaced by PSC.
  • Documentary Due Process owns reason custody and institutional-reasons governance; its own boundary statement distinguishes it from PSC, Residue Ledger, and Jurisdiction of Form.
  • Standard is an object class. It does not imply validation, certification, external adoption, or consensus.
Cross-room provenance

Book ↔ Research

Candidate relations

Private governance adjudication remains open.

Candidate relations. Seven candidate relations remain under adjudication in the governance graph and are intentionally not rendered as public lineage until promoted by explicit evidence.

HOW TO READ THIS GRAPH

Membership ≠ lineage. Sharing a program does not make one work the source, successor, or dependency of another.

Related research ≠ argument extension. Editorial adjacency does not enlarge either work’s claim.

Extraction ≠ validation. A public extraction identifies provenance, not truth status or external verification.

Standard ≠ certification or adoption. Object class and institutional uptake are independent dimensions.

Candidate ≠ authoritative lineage. Candidate relations remain unresolved until directly adjudicated.

Why there is no universal arrow diagram

The Research graph contains symmetric related-work edges, directional provenance, historical succession, program membership, cross-room relations, and unresolved candidates. Rendering them all with one arrow grammar would destroy their semantics. Directional marks are reserved for relations whose direction is part of the evidence.

METHODS & LIMITS

Methods and evidence differ by project; each work states its own status and limits.

Object class
What kind of intellectual object this is: for example a Standard, Framework, or Research Contribution.

Status
Its access, editorial maturity, lifecycle, and completeness state. Those dimensions are not collapsed into one label.

Evidence class
What kind of support exists for a consequential claim. Evidence class is separate from object class and from publication status.

Authority boundary
A work labeled Standard or Framework is not thereby validated, adopted, certified, or consensus. The current institutional evidence ledger contains no E6 · Independently Verified / Audited Evidence.

Individual works retain their own specific evidence statements, limitations, revision conditions, and provenance. This landing page does not elevate those claims beyond what their underlying records support.
