EXECUTIVE EVIDENCE BRIEF · AUGUST 2026

Jonathan Johnson-Swagel

Enterprise Applied AI Platform Leader
Builds production AI systems and complex workflow platforms that teams can operate, extend, and own.

Leadership scope

I lead where technical architecture, operating-model design, governance, adoption, and long-term ownership have to be solved together. The strongest evidence comes from two settings: a shared applied-AI capability at AWS and a global commercial transformation at Uber. The linked cases contain the full context, attribution, and limits.

SELECTED EVIDENCE

12 live tools

Collective AWS applied-AI portfolio.

35 builders

Approximately 35 global builders enabled.

8 independent shippers

Builders releasing live tools without founder dependence.

2 transfers

Production ownership transferred without interruption.

35 → 10 days

Average Uber contract cycle time.

AWS · 2024–PRESENT

Shared applied-AI capability

Successful local tools were beginning to reproduce infrastructure and concentrate operating knowledge. I redirected the work toward shared architecture, explicit production controls, independent builders, and transfer from the start.

  • 12 live tools and 27+ reusable platform or automation components across the collective portfolio.
  • Approximately 35 global builders enabled; eight later shipped live tools independently.
  • 4,500+ automated tests across the collective portfolio.
  • Two core production systems transferred to operating owners without service interruption.

UBER · 2021–2024

Global commercial transformation

I led an eight-person core team and a wider cross-functional program spanning Legal, Sales, Finance, Engineering, regional stakeholders, executive sponsors, DocuSign, and implementation partners.

  • DocuSign CLM/CPQ across 40+ business lines and 80 countries.
  • A common global operating spine with explicit paths for legitimate local variation.
  • Average contract cycle time moved from 35 days to 10 days.
  • Customer Award for Innovation at Momentum 2023.

Executive operating pattern

Define the decision

Clarify evidence, authority, exclusions, uncertainty, and escalation before implementation begins.

Build shared foundations

Replace repeated local infrastructure with reusable services, common controls, and explicit operating practices.

Preserve judgment

Automate avoidable burden without disguising ambiguity; consequential uncertainty stays with accountable specialists.

Transfer capability

Move access, release knowledge, change rights, support responsibilities, and decision authority to durable owners.

Evidence boundary. Official AWS title: Business Technical Developer III. Applied-AI platform leadership describes functional scope. AWS portfolio results are collective. The Uber cycle-time result is a cross-functional organizational outcome. Test counts do not establish complete control coverage, and directional capacity figures are not audited savings.

Independent verification

AWS evidence posture. Evidence is claim-specific, not page-wide. E4 · First-Party Operational Evidence supports the dated May 27 lower bound of at least 12 production AI tools serving the team daily, the bounded approximately 40-to-5-minute R-PPA drafting workflow, the June 4 3,204-test/human-validation checkpoint, the June 5 two-tool transfer event, and the pricing validator’s live/control state. Broader portfolio and compound claims—including 27+ components, approximately 35 builders enabled, eight independent shippers, 4,500+ automated tests, three replications, 98 constructs in five days, the 24-hour bottleneck outcome, and the no-interruption transfer formulation—remain E3 · First-Party Reported Records. Capacity figures remain E2 · Estimate / Model. The underlying operational records remain private/confidential, and no E5 external validation or E6 independent audit is claimed for the AWS record. Review the AWS evidence and boundaries.

Uber independent public evidence. DocuSign identifies Uber as an Innovation in Action recipient and reports the 35-to-10-day cycle-time result. Review the official record.

DocuSign Momentum 2023. DocuSign records Jonathan Johnson-Swagel accepting a Customer Award for Innovation. Review the official recap.

Mandates

I am most useful leading applied-AI platforms, enterprise AI transformation, and consequential workflow systems when architecture, governance, adoption, and long-term ownership have to be designed as one operating problem.
